AMBRUS DIOSSY

ABOUT AMBRUS DIOSSY

Ambrus (Andy) Diossy Born 1973 in Chicago Illinois to Hungarian parents, is a classically trained Fine Artist who graduated from the Angel Academy of Art in Florence Italy under the tutelage of The Maestro John Angel, a renown pupil of the Great Florentine Artist Pietro Annigoni.

Ambrus’s Art became widely recognized when in 2011 he was commissioned to create a series of Labels For a Historian and Absinthe Distiller T.A. Breaux, who’s Jade Absinthes are considered to be among the most faithfully produced and accurate representations of the controversial spirit closely linked to the Art scene of Belle Epoch era France. This led to continued work in 2013-2019 with his longtime art collector and absinthe distiller Kyle Bairnsfather on paintings for his distilleries tasting room which also adorn his Labels as well. Diossy has become a well known and respected artist within the absinthe community and joins a long list of artists who’ve been inspired by and shaped the Artistic and visual history of the legendary spirit.

In addition to label art, Ambrus also created work for clothing/apparel Brands, most notably a series for Florida's own “Salt Life” in 2011 and numerous other brands including Intrepid Powerboats, Reactor Watches, and even the silhouette design modeled after his Brother and fellow Artist (Istvan Steve Diossy) for Florida’s “Endless Summer” State License Plate.

Diossy’s true passion however remains in his original oil paintings, which continue to garner attention and acclaim throughout the Art world for his unique Allegories and highly symbolic imagery.
